2011 Rugby World Cup qualifying

For the final of the Rugby Union World Cup 2011, which will be held in September and October in New Zealand, the top three winners of each of the four preliminary round groups are automatically eligible to start at the 2007 World Championships. After the International Rugby Board had considered briefly to limit the number of participants to 16 teams, he confirmed on 30 November 2007 that continue to 20 teams will participate. Africa

Africa has a fixed starting point for the final disposal. Qualifying began with the African Cup of Nations 2008. Participated in the tournament 14 teams. Four teams contested a previous qualification at two places. Then, the remaining twelve teams were divided into four groups of three teams. The four semi-finalists met in June 2009. The winner (Namibia ) qualified for the World Cup finals, second place (Tunisia ) advances in the Barrage Round.

Ivory Coast qualified for the semifinals.

The four winners of the second round of play for a place in the final, in which the set representative of Africa was determined.

Namibia and Tunisia qualified for the final.

Round 4

Between the two teams, the direct qualifier was identified for the World Cup. The loser got another chance to qualify in the play-off round.

America

North and South America together had two fixed starting positions for the final disposal. In addition, for a third team had the opportunity to qualify through a barrage against a European team. The qualifications included a tournament with Caribbean and Central American teams in the Cayman Islands. Trinidad and Tobago, the winner of this tournament, met Brazil, the winner of the South American qualifying group. The winner of this game came in the third round to Uruguay and Chile. Asia

Asia had a solid starting place for the final disposal. This was the winner of the Asian Five Nations 2010. The runner-up of this tournament moved as Asia 2 in the Barrage Round ago.

Thailand moved to the final victory over Malaysia before the second round and met the other three representatives of the first division of the Asia Cup.

There were advancing the four best teams in the Topdivision the Asian Five Nations 2009 in the next round, the fifth-placed team was eliminated.

The winner of Division 1 of the Asian Five Nations 2009 met in round 3 of the top four teams in the Topdivision.
