Belarus at the 2012 Summer Olympics
Belarus took part in London at the 2012 Olympic Games. It was the fifth overall participation in Olympic Games as an independent team. From the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus 173 athletes were nominated in 23 sports.
On August 13, 2012 Nadseja Astaptschuk was, who won gold in the shot put, because of a positive doping finding ( methenolone ) disqualified taken in during the games urine samples. It was deleted from the result lists, reclaimed the gold medal by the IOC.
