The BMW 6 Series (internal designation: F12 - Convertible F13 - Coupé F06 - Four-door coupe ) of the German car manufacturer BMW is the third generation of the 6-series.

This 6-series is based on the current model BMW 5 series and therefore shares a large part of the art equipment and facilities.

History

The 18 November 2010 officially unveiled by BMW Convertible takes over from the produced since 2004 Model E64. It is produced in Dingolfing plant.

The delivery beginning and therefore also the dealer presentation of the 6 Series convertible in Germany took place on 26 March 2011. Visitors to the show was shown in Detroit in 2011 the vehicle at the NAIAS.

As a successor to the E63 model, a 6-seater coupe is since autumn 2011 again offered.

In May 2012, a four-door coupe (Gran Coupé) was also introduced, which competes primarily with the Mercedes CLS and the Porsche Panamera.

In the spring of 2012, the new BMW M6 presented at the Geneva Motor Show. Like the BMW M5 also has the new M6 a twin-turbocharged 4.4 liter V8 engine as the power source that provides 560 hp and 680 Nm of torque.

Gran Coupé

In May 2012, the 6 Series Gran Coupe came on the market. It has, in contrast to the normal coupe four doors and three seats in the rear. Thus, it is a 4 1 seater.

Engine variants

The engine variants accepts the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe largely on the Coupé and Cabriolet. The twin-turbocharged V8 in the BMW 650i Gran Coupe with 4.4 -liter displacement, however, is in a new stage of expansion available: Instead of the previous 408 PS the new engine now develops 450 hp and brings it to 650 instead of 600 Nm. At the same emissions and fuel consumption have been reduced. Available is the new engine from autumn 2012.
