Precious Grub is a municipality with 726 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Styria. From 1 January 2015 it has joined forces framework of the Styrian municipality structural reform with the communities Nestelbach bei Graz and Langegg bei Graz, the new community will continue to use the name " Nestelbach bei Graz ".

Geography

Geographical Location

Precious Grub located approximately 10 kilometers east of the provincial capital of Graz in the district of Graz-Umgebung at the entrance of Eastern Styria in the Austrian province of Styria.

There are no other cadastral except precious Grub.

Neighboring communities

History

The place is first mentioned in 1406 as Nesengrub. The local church as an autonomous body created in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community came to Reichsgau Styria, 1945-1955, she was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

Religions

The municipality belongs entirely to the parish Nestelbach near Graz.

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 April 1990. Coat Description: Black a golden apple tree in the form of a tree of life, covered by a golden beam, in a bar by two rows of red, bottom rounded roof tiles.

Economy and infrastructure

The place is structured rural and a residential and agricultural community.

Traffic

Precious Grub located off the main roads, which are yet to reach. The south motorway (A2 ) is accessible in about 4 km above the final point Lassnitzhoehe (169). The church Straße (B 73) is reached in about 8 km away on the neighboring community Empersdorf.

In the village there is no train station. The nearest railway station is located in the Styrian Eastern Railway Lassnitzhoehe in about 6 km away. Graz Airport is about 15 km away.

Sports

The football club " OG Gem Grub " ( local group Precious Grub ) was founded in 1985 by some enthusiastic football inhabitants of the communities Precious Grub, Vasoldsberg and Nestelbach. The founding chairman Wolfgang Wilfling gave the fortunes of the club after a year of Josef Schaller further, the OG- precious Grub formed until 1996 as respectable amateur football team. Since 1996 Günther Wilfling leads as chairman of the club. In addition to the sporting activities of the association organizes an annual penalty and football tournament at the sports field in precious Grub. The OG precious Grub currently has 35 members.

The Leisure Club precious Grub deals with motorsport. Chairman is the well-known mountain rally pilot Ewald Scherr.
