Flag of the Gambia
The flag of The Gambia was designed by Pa Thomasi. It was officially launched on 18 February 1965.
Description and significance
The national flag of Gambia has five stripes in the ratio 6:1:4:1:6. The colors of the flag have the following meaning:
- Red symbolizes the sun, whose rays Gambia represents hope for the future
- Blue stands for the current flowing through the Gambia current
- Green points to the agriculture and natural resources
- White symbolizes peace and unity.
