Flag of Ceuta

The flag of Ceuta goes back to an old flag of Lisbon. As a flag of Lisbon city saint, San Vicente with the colors of the Dominicans, she stood for the Portuguese capital, but was also used for the Kingdom of Portugal. In fact, the black-and- white Ständerung corresponds exactly to the today's Flag of Lisbon. Portugal was from 1415-1580, de jure until 1640, owner Ceuta. The official flag of Ceuta is still the Portuguese national emblem placed, but with a different arrangement of the seven golden castles: The Portuguese carries a castle on top in the middle instead of the bottom of the tip. The coat of arms is also topped by a crown Markgraf ( Marquiskrone ).
