Germany at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics

The German Athletics Association presented a total of 71 participants at the World Athletics Championships 2011 in Daegu. Of the original 75 nominated athletes javelin thrower Till Wöschler, triple jumper Katja humility, walkers André Höhne and 1500 - meter runner Carsten Schlangen had to cancel their participation due to injury before the start of the event.

Of the twelve German medal winners of the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2009 nine were in Daegu back to the start. There were missing from this circle the injured Ariane Friedrich and Verena Sailer and javelin world champion Steffi Nerius that had ended her career. Thus Robert Harting was the only defending champion in the German team.
