Huitiupan is a municipality in the north of the Mexican state of Chiapas. The municipality is located in the Sierra Madre de Chiapas. The name comes from the Nahuatl and means " place of the great temple ."

The municipality has about 22,500 inhabitants and an area of 340.2 km ². Administrative seat and largest town of the Municipalities is the same Huitiupan.

Huitiupan borders the municipalities Sabanilla, Simojovel, Pueblo Nuevo Solistahuacán and Amatán as well as to the state of Tabasco.
