Josef Bradl

Josef " Sepp " Bradl ( Bubi Bradl ) ( born January 8, 1918 in Wasserburg am Inn, Bavaria, † March 3, 1982 in Mühlbach, Salzburg ) was a German -Austrian ski jumper and ski coach.

On March 15, 1936 on the newly constructed large hill Bloudkova Velikanka in Slovenia Planica with a width of 101 m he achieved his first jump of a man with skis over 100 m. In 1938, he broke his own record with 107 m. In 1939 he became world champion on the large hill in Zakopane. In the same year he won the German Cup in Oberhof, a success he could repeat in Spindleruv Mlyn 1941. In 1953 he won the first edition of the German - Austrian Four Hills Tournament.

From 1958 Bradl was active as a coach. Among other things, he was responsible for the German and the Austrian national ski jumping team. Until his death, he led, together with his wife Paula Alpine Gasthof Rupertihaus in Mühlbach.

The Sepp Bradl Stadion in Bischofshofen with the Paul Ausserleitner hill is named after him. On the right side of the Aufsprunghügels is there to him erected in honor Bubi Bradl Memorial.
