Jürgen Litz

Jürgen Litz ( born October 8, 1938 in Essen ) is a retired German rower. He won Olympic gold in Rome in 1960.

Career

In 1959, the Düsseldorf foursome had become with in the cast Klaus Wegner, Gerd Cintl, Horst Effertz, Claus Hess with coxswain Michael Obst European champions. In the German Rowing Championships 1960, the Düsseldorf coach Theo Cohnen together a roller, which should tempt coached by Karl Adam boat from Ratzeburg Rowing Club. The Düsseldorf eighth in the occupation of Klaus Wegner, Jürgen Litz, Manfred Uellner, Gerd Cintl, Horst Effertz, Dr. Claus Hess, Klaus Riekemann, Günter Schroers and helmsman Michael Obst was in the German Championship second behind Ratzeburg boat at the Olympic should win games in Rome Gold.

For the RC Germania of four drove to the races on the Lake Albano. In the occupation Gerd Cintl, Horst Effertz, Klaus Riekemann, Jürgen Litz and Michael Obst, the boat won both forward and intermediate run with the fastest time. In the finale, the boat could safely assert against the French boat.

Litz started for the Rowing Club Germania Dusseldorf 1904.
