Münsterappel

Münsterappel is a municipality in the Thunder Mountain district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Alsenz - Obermoschel, which has its headquarters in the town of Alsenz.

Geography

Münsterappel located in Appelbachtal north of the Palatinate Forest. In the north, Niedernhausen is at the Appel, south Oberhausen is located at the Appel. The nearest towns are Bad Kreuznach, Rockhausen, Alzey and Kaiserslautern.

History

The place was first mentioned in 893 as Apola when he was given by King Arnulf of Carinthia.

Parish council

The local council in Münsterappel consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Blazon: In gold a red lion, blue gezungt, blue reinforced and blue crowned, wearing a blue shield, a silver in Münster with two towers, all considered red.

Structures

The monastery church was built in 1492 Münsterappel and is today used as a Protestant church. On 9 September 2007, the solemn rededication of the renovated church took place.

Events and Festivals

The fair is held annually on the third weekend in September. The highlight is the big parade on Sunday. In August, the cycling day in Appelbachtal takes place. The carnival is part of a " cap session " always on Carnival weekend, Saturday from 20.11 clock traditionally from FSV Münsterappel discharged. For many years the meeting is well beyond the local boundaries popular place by friends of the foolish guild.

Economy and infrastructure

Münsterappel is the site of a primary school and a kindergarten who can offer a full-day care. Both devices use the new village community hall for school and play school sports. Some craft businesses provide jobs in limited numbers; isolated farms are still available. The majority of workers are commuting to nearby centers in the Bad Kreuznach, Rockhausen and Kaiserslautern. Nearest train stop is the Alsenz station on the Alsenztalbahn.
