Petit-Réderching

Petit- Réderching ( German Klein Reder Chingen, 1941-1944 Klein Redingen ) is a commune with 1488 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region.

Geography

Petit- Réderching between Sarreguemines and Bitche in a rural landscape in the headwaters of the Bickenalb. The district Meyerhof is just south of the National Road 62

History

While villas and items were from Gallo-Roman times found, but was Petit- Réderching relatively late, in 1575, first mentioned as a small -Rider Chingen. The settlement was built on the King's Road called Altstrasse between Mainz and Metz. During the Thirty Years' War, many villages were destroyed, Petit- Réderching experienced an upswing, as here glassmakers settled. The district Meyerhof has existed since the 18th century, but became especially after the construction of the railway from 1869.

Petit- Réderching belongs since 1790 to the canton Rohrbach- lès -Bitche, with a brief interruption to the beginning of the 19th century, when the place was assigned Volmunster. Petit- Réderching has a busy day municipality.

A monumental Via Crucis of 1779 starts on the road to Bettviller, while Petit- Réderching was originally gepfarrt.

Economy and infrastructure

Petit- Réderching is located on the National Road 62, which was extended from 1722 between Sarreguemines and Bitche and continues to Haguenau, as well as the D 36 to Lviv. In the district of Meyerhof a station of the route Sarreguemines - Bitche available.

In Petit- Réderching the only candle factory is located in the department of Moselle.
