The Reao Atoll, Clermont de Tonnerre old name or Clermont Tonnerre is part of an atoll of the Tuamotu Archipelago in French Polynesia. Reao consists of an elongated Motu in the east, on the west coast of the lagoon of about a hundred very small Motus is shielded from the ocean, which are separated by sandbanks. The land area is about 9 km ², the lagoon some 34 km ².

The atoll has 360 inhabitants (as of 2007) and is 1350 km from Tahiti. Reao was discovered on April 30, 1823 by Frenchman Louis Isidore Duperrey. Along with about 49 km to the west located Atoll Puka Rua, it forms the municipality Reao. The inhabitants live mostly from the Kopraproduktion. To the north is a small airport ( IATA code: REA).
