Roppe

Roppe ( formerly German Rotbach and Roppach ) is a town in the French department of Territoire de Belfort in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Roppe is at 356 m above the sea, about six kilometers northeast of the town of Belfort ( a straight line ). The village is located in the northern part of the Burgundian Gate, on the plateau south of the Forêt de Roppe below the Fort de Roppe in the foothills of the Vosges, on both sides of Autruche.

The area of ​​7.43 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the landscape in the northern part of the Burgundian Gate ( trouée de Belfort ). The southern part of the area occupied by the wide area at the foot of the Forêt de Roppe. This is drained by the Autruche south across the Bourbeuse to Allaine. The plateau is on average 360 m and is mostly covered with arable and meadow land. To the north, the municipality's area extends in the hilly area of the Forêt de Roppe. It is wooded nearly continuous and extends on both sides of the dam from the Autruche. The entire area is designated as a shooting range. History
