Sitala is a municipality in the north of the Mexican state of Chiapas. The name of this place comes from Nahuatl and means " paddle the father of fear."

The municipality has about 12,000 inhabitants and an area of 105.8 km ². Administrative seat and largest town of the Municipalities is the same Sitala.

The municipios Sitala borders the Municipalities Chilón, San Juan Cancuc and Pantelhó.
