Wildermieming

Wildermieming is a municipality in the district of Innsbruck Land in Tyrol in Austria with 888 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district Telfs.

Gained fame Wildermieming by the Bergdoktor TV series as a fictitious place " sun stone " with the Bergdoktorhaus as a backdrop.

Geography

Wildermieming is located approximately 40 kilometers west of Innsbruck at the eastern Mieminger plateau. The place provides the connection from Telfs across the plateau to the Fern Pass.

History

Wildermieming was first mentioned in 1071 in a document. 1833 Wildermieming was separated from the municipality Mieming. Originally part of the judicial district Silz Wildermieming in 1925 the district of Innsbruck country or the jurisdiction Telfs connected.

The last mayor elections took place simultaneously with the local elections on March 14, 2010. Klaus Stocker was elected mayor.

With the golden Legföhrenzweig on green ground in the arms of the municipality Wildermieming the importance of this plant is recognized as a protection for the place Wildermieming before mudflows.
