History

To 1212/1220 Obereschenbach was passed ( since 1917 Wolfram -Eschenbach ) of the Wertheimer counts as a gift to the Teutonic Order. The Catholic Cathedral Parish Wolfram -Eschenbach is part of the Dean's Office Herrieden within the bishopric of Eichstätt. Current parish administrator is pastor Jochen Scherzer.

Wolfram -Eschenbach as a film set

1974 served Wolfram -Eschenbach as the backdrop for the children's film classic The robber Hotzenplotz with Gert Frobe, Josef Meinrad, Rainer Basedow and Lina Carstens.
