Yutz
Yutz ( German Jeutz, Lorraine Jäitz ) is a commune with 15,885 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region.
Geography
Yutz lies on the Moselle opposite the city of Thionville.
History
The area was, as the discovery of beaked flagons of Basse- Yutz shows already inhabited during the La Tène Celts. The town was first mentioned as 830 Judich. The church today was created in 1970 by merging the two municipalities Basse- Yutz ( Niederjeutz ) and Haute- Yutz ( Oberjeutz ).
