Zonguldak Province

Zonguldak is a province in Turkey, which originally included the provinces Bartın and Karabük. Its capital is the same Zonguldak. Zonguldak with its significant coal deposits is an important port on the western Black Sea coast. A country road leading to the beach baths kopuz and Uzunkum.

Interesting places

Worth seeing are the sandy beaches of Kozlu, Alapli, Ilıksu, kopuz of National Sovereignty forest, the forest recreation sites on Göl Mountain, Yayla (plateau ), Kocaman, Bostanözü, Çamlık, Baklabostan and Gürleyik, the caves of Cumayani, Kizilelma and Mencilis, the church in Amasra, the mosques of Fatih and Iskele, small mosques ( Mesdschiden ) of Eyiciler and Haci Nuri, the Eski Cami ( Gazi Süleyman Pasha Mosque), the mosques of Tas Minaret, Koprulu, Hidayettullah, Dağdelen, Kazdağlı, Izzet Mehmed Pasha and Koçak ( Lütfiye ), the dervish monasteries of Kalealtı and Ali Baba, the caravanserai of Cinci Han, the Eski Yeni and Hamamlar (old and new bath houses ), the bridges of Taşköprü, Tokatlıköprü and Inceköprü.

Devrek, a 50 km southeast of Zonguldak situated town with 67,000 inhabitants, is famous for the production of wood- carved walking sticks and Çaycuma for its yogurt specialties.

Infrastructure and Transport

For several years the Saltukova airport is open to international air traffic. It will take place every week flights between Dusseldorf and Zonguldak.
