Bibiche

Bibiche ( German: Bibisch ) is a commune with 442 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs administratively to the district Boulay -Moselle and the Canton Bouzonville.

Geography

The village lies on the border to the German Saarland, about 25 kilometers east of Thionville and 20 kilometers west of Saarlouis. The same Bach Ruisseau de Bibiche ( German: Bibicher stream ) arises in the municipal area and opens after nearly seven kilometers as a left tributary of the Nied.

  • Flastroff and Colmen in the Northeast,
  • Filstroff in the east,
  • Chémery -les -Deux in the south,
  • Mens church in the west and
  • Saint -François- Lacroix in the northwest.

History

The original name of the beaver home is evidence of a large population of beavers on stream Bibicher that again today can still be found in the coat of arms. The place was almost completely destroyed in the Thirty Years' War.
