Marange-Zondrange

Marange Zondrange ( German Möhringen Zondringen, Lorraine meringues sun rings ) is a commune with 319 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region.

Geography

The municipality is located in a tributary of the German Nied on the road from Metz to Saint- Avold.

Also part of the community is the north hamlet of La Ferme de Henning ( Henningen ).

History

The municipality was formed in 1790 from the two closely spaced localities Marange and Zondrange belonging to France since 1766.

Marange was first mentioned in 1121 as Meringa and Mairinga. Zondrange: Zondringa (1530).

1871-1918 was Marange Zondrange again to the German Reich.
