Denting

Denting ( German: Dent Ingen ) is a commune with 255 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region.

Location

The municipality is located in the north of Lorraine, about ten kilometers west of the border town of Creutzwald.

History

The village was founded after the Thirty Years' War. Previously was on the site of a village called Wellingen. The only remnant of this period is the chapel of Saint- Henri.

1937 was built in the municipality, the military camp Ban Saint Jean, which now resembles a ghost town and was declared a prohibited area.
