Coume

Coume ( German: Kuhmen ) is a commune with 704 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region.

Location

The municipality is located in the north of Lorraine, about eight kilometers west of the border town of Creutzwald.

History

Even in Gallo-Roman times, there were settlements here. As cuine the place in the 11th century was first mentioned. Other names were Coma ( 1217 ), Come ( 1274), Cosme ( 1404), Coume (1630 ), Coom (1760 ) and many similar spellings.
