Barchain

Barchain ( German Barchingen ) is a commune with 111 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Sarrebourg and Canton Sarrebourg.

Geography

Barchain is located about seven kilometers southwest of Sarrebourg at an altitude 282-312 m above sea level. The municipal area covers 1.7 km ².

History

The village belongs since 1661 to France, was 1871-1919 and in the period between 1939 and 1945 under German management.
