Fribourg (Moselle)
Fribourg ( German Freiburg) is a commune with 168 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Sarrebourg and Canton Réchicourt -le- Château and is a member of the Association of Municipalities Pays des Étangs.
Geography
Fribourg is located 15 kilometers west of Sarrebourg, between the pond Linder ( Etang de Lindre ) and the stock pool ( Etang du Stock ). The 17.42 km ² comprehensive municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park of Lorraine.
The municipality includes the hamlets of Fribourg
- Albeschaux ( Alberschhofen ), to the northeast, and
- Sainte -Croix ( Heiligkreuzhof ), also northeast.
- Albing ( 1497: Elbingen ).
History
The village was in the Middle Ages possession of the bishops of Metz and belongs since 1766 to France.
