Barr, Bas-Rhin

Barr is a commune with 6971 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. It belongs to the district Sélestat - Erstein, is the capital of the canton of Barr and which was established in 1995 Kommunalverband Piedmont de Barr.

Geography

The small town of Barr is located at the outlet of Kirneck from the Vosges in the Upper Rhine Plain, approximately 17 kilometers north of Sélestat and 25 kilometers southwest of Strasbourg. The heavily forested territory extends far into the Vosges in until the source of the Kirneck.

Neighboring communities of Barr Holy Stone in the north, Gertwiller in the east, in the southeast cell Willer, Saint- Pierre and Mittelberg home in the south, Andlau the southwest, Le Hohwald in the west and Ottrott and Saint- Nabor in the northwest.
