Heiligenstein

Holy Stone is a commune with 952 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. It belongs to the district Sélestat - Erstein, for Canton Barr and founded in 1995, Local Government Association, Piedmont de Barr.

Geography

The community of Holy Stone is located about five kilometers south-southwest of Obernai and 24 kilometers southwest of Strasbourg on the edge of the Vosges below the Mont Sainte-Odile.

The Landsberg Castle was built in 1197-1200 by Conrad von Landsberg and destroyed by the Swedes in the Thirty Years' War in 1632.
