Dambach-la-Ville
Dambach- la -Ville (German Dambach ) is a commune in the Bas -Rhin in the Alsace region. It lies in the district Sélestat - Erstein, about ten kilometers north of Sélestat. Dambach- la- Ville is located on the Alsace wine route and identifies today itself as a medieval wine town. The single vineyard Frank Stone is one of the foundations of Appellation Alsace Grand Cru.
History
In the 11th century Dambach became a town, built in the 14th century the fortified bishop's seat.
