Obenheim

Obenheim is a municipality with 1399 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the canton Erstein in the department of Bas -Rhin in Alsace region of France. She is a member of the Communauté de communes du Rhin.

Geography

The town lies on the Rhine - Rhone canal and is crossed by the road D 468 Department, which runs parallel to the Rhine. The village is located approximately at the height of the right-bank town of Lahr in the Black Forest. Seven kilometers southeast of Obenheim in Rhinau, a car ferry across the Rhine to the German community Grafenhausen. The Alsatian capital Strasbourg is well located 30 kilometers north.

Attractions

The village is rich in traditional half-timbered houses.

In addition to the Catholic Church there are also a Protestant church in Obenheim.
