History
Camastra was founded in 1620 by Giacomo Lucchesi. The founding name was Ramulia. The property came into the possession of the Lanza family.
Attractions
Worth seeing is the modern church SS.Salvatore on Corso Garibaldi. On the 542 m high mountain Castellazzo di Camastra between Camastra and Palma di Montechiaro traces of tombs and settlements from the Stone Age have been found to Greek times. In some graves grave goods excavated from clay.
