Santa Elisabetta is a city in the province of Agrigento in the Italian region Sicily.

Santa Elisabetta is located 21 km north of Agrigento inland. Here live 2577 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012), who mainly work in agriculture.
The neighboring municipalities are Aragona, Joppolo Giancaxio, Raffadali and Sant'Angelo Muxaro.
History
The present city was founded in 1620. 1955, the community was self-employed, before that it was a district of Aragona. Due to the high unemployment emigrated from many residents of Santa Elisabetta. Until the Second World War, the inhabitants of Santa Elisabetta emigrated mainly to North and South America. Starting in 1950, a large wave of emigration to Germany, Belgium and France took place, which lasted until the late seventies.
