Grotto is a municipality of the province of Agrigento in the Italian region Sicily.

Grotto is located 19 km northeast of Agrigento. Here live 5831 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012), in agriculture (almonds and wine) mainly work.

The neighboring municipalities are Aragona, Campofranco (CL ), Comitini, Favara, Milena (CL) and Racalmuto.

History

Grotto was founded to Greek times. The place got its name from the many caves that exist in the municipality.
