Cavillon

Cavillon ( Picard: Cavion ) is a northern French village with 104 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté de communes de l' Ouest d' Amiens, in the canton Picquigny.

Geography

Cavillon is located approximately 5.5 km south-west of Picquigny at the junction of the D121 roads department of Fourdrinoy after Riencourt, D95 and D156 of Picquigny after Molliens- Dreuil. In the west the municipality reached the valley of the river Saint -Landon. The Bois de Cavillon extends predominantly on the territory of the neighboring community Fourdrinoy.

History

The territory was inhabited in Gallo-Roman times. Traces of a villa were found.

  • The Saint-Nicolas Church from the 16th century, the apse dated, 1781.
