Quevauvillers
Quevauvillers ( Picard: Gueuvilé ) is a northern French village with 1095 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté de communes du Sud -Ouest Amiénois, in the canton Molliens- Dreuil.
Geography
Quevauvillers located approximately 9.5 km north-east of Poix- de -Picardie and 9 km south-southeast of Molliens- Dreuil at the junction of the roads department D1029 ( former Route nationale 29) and D38. in the northern municipality runs the Autoroute A29. The community is served by the railway line from Amiens to Rouen; the station Namps - Quevauvillers located in the neighboring municipality Namps - Maisnil. The municipality owns the homestead hen Ville.
History
In Roman times, this was the rider station Equitum villa on the road from Amiens ( Samarobriva ) to Rouen ( Rotomagus ).

Personalities
- Louis- Gabriel-de- Gomer (1718 - 1798), Maréchal de camp of the French army, developed the eponymous mortar, was born here.
