Rivery

Rivery ( Picard: Rivroé ) is a northern French village with 3431 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté d' agglomà Amiens Métropole, in the canton Amiens -3 ( Nord-Est ).

Geography

Rivery is a suburb of Amiens on the right ( northern ) bank of the Somme, from whose center is located in the north-east around 2 km. The municipality is crossed by the Route nationale 25 which forms part of the highway ring of Amiens and extends north to the Territory road D919. The hortillonnages of Amiens lie partly in the community. To Rivery the industrial area of La Haute Borne belongs to both sides of the street department D929 Albert.

History

Between 1790 and 1801 Rivery belonged to the Canton Querrieux.
