In the 11th century it belonged to the Abbey of Farfa, before it came to the family of Brancaleoni in the 13th century. In the 16th century it acquired the Orsini family, which sold the place in 1634 for 43,000 scudi to Marcantonio Borghese.

By 1864, the place was called Colle Piccolo and then after the ( supposedly) located here ancient city Torah renamed the Sabines.
