Fiamignano

Fiamignano is a municipality with 1404 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Rieti in the Italian region of Lazio.

Geography

Fiamignano is located 105 km northeast of Rome, 34 km southeast of Rieti, and 50 km southwest of L' Aquila. It is above the Salto reservoir surrounded by the mountains of Abruzzo Reatinischen in the valley of the Salto. The municipality achieved in Monte Nuria, with 1,888 m slm the highest elevation. The municipality is located in the seismic zone 1 ( high risk ).

Fiamignano is a member of the Comunità Montana Salto Cicolano.

The neighboring municipalities are Antrodoco, Borgorose, Pescorocchiano, Petrella Salto, Scoppito (AQ ) and Tornimparte (AQ ).

Traffic

Fiamignano is located on the provincial road 67 Salto Cicolana SP 67 (formerly SS 578 ), which runs from Rieti from the A24 Autostrada dei Parchi, driveway Valle del Salto, to Avezzano. The nearest railway station is located in Rieti.

Carmine Rinaldi ( PdL ) was elected in May 2006 to the mayor. His center-right list is also available with 8 of 12 seats, the majority in the City Council.
