Gambasca

Gambasca is a municipality with 402 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Cuneo (CN ), Region Piedmont, located about 55 km south of Turin.

Geography

The place is located at the end of the Po Valley, a few kilometers before the mountain valley opens into the Po Valley. The originating within the Cozie Alps Po flows about 1 km north-east past the village and begins to deposit as I mentioned, about 500 m wide valley floor gravel its cargo.

Through the valley - here on the river's northern bank in the neighboring town Rifreddo - runs the Strada Statale 662 (SS 622 or " Via Valle Po " ) that leads to the western mountains and to the east over Saluzzo to Turin.

The municipal area is slightly inclined at about 450-500 m above sea level and has an area of 5 km ².

The neighboring communities of Gambasca are Brossasco, Martiniana Po, Revello, Rifreddo and Sanfront.

Attractions

Worth seeing is the parish church of San Sebastiano. It stands on older walls and was expanded in 1735 Piedmontese Baroque.
