Revello
Revello is a municipality with 4212 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Cuneo (CN ), Region Piedmont, located about 50 km southwest of Turin.
Geography
It is situated on a mountain slope at the end of the Po Valley, where the mountain valley opens into the Po Valley. The originating within the Cozie Alps Po flows 2 km south past the place and shows here at the end of the valley the first meander.
In Revello begins the so-called Via Po Valley (SS 622), which leads into the western mountains or over Saluzzo to Turin.
The village lies at an altitude of about 350 m slm. The municipality covers an area of 57.31 km ². The districts of Revello are San Pietro, Campagnole, Tatty Pertusio, Morra San Martino, Paschero, San Firmino and Staffarda.
The neighboring municipalities are Barge, Brondello, Cardè, Castellar, Envie, Gambasca Martiniana Po, Pagno, Rifreddo and downstream the town of Saluzzo.
History
In the 10th century Revello is mentioned as (Latin ) Revellum documented.
