Grafenried

Geography

Count Ried is located at 520 m above sea level. M., 9 km west-northwest of Burgdorf and 15 km north- northeast of the capital of the canton of Bern ( straight line ). The scattered village extends in a valley in the eastern part of the plateau Rapperswil, the Swiss Plateau.

Of the residents 95.9 % are German, 1.7 % French-speaking and 0.3 % speak Italian ( as of 2000). The population of Grafenried amounted in 1850 to 640 residents in 1900 to 556 inhabitants. Economy

Grafenried was until the second half of the 20th century a predominantly coined by agriculture village. History
