The hamlet Wagerten

Under the name Wahlern currently there is a civil parish and a Reformed congregation.

Since 1 January 2011, the municipality is fused with the community Albligen under the new name Schwarzburg.

Geography

Black Castle is located east of the scythe in the foothills.

Is well recognized for its largest town Schwarzburg, this, among other things as the site of the former shortwave transmitter Schwarzburg.

Black Castle was until 31 December 2009, the capital of the eponymous administrative district Schwarzburg. This was abolished in the course of administrative reform and the former municipalities ( Albligen, Guggisberg, Rüschegg and Wahlern ) now belong to the administrative district of Bern -Mittelland.

In addition, the former municipality has many hamlets. The largest are Lanzenhäusern and stone Brünnen. The individual villages in the municipality of hot black castle ( the main town ), Lanzenhäusern, Mamishaus and Milken.

Policy

The municipal council ( executive) consists of 7 members (as of 2010 ). The political parties represented are SVP, SP and the local party Wahlern left of center (WLM ). Mayor 's Ruedi Flückiger, SP ( 2009-2012 legislature ). The local council or the urn community form the legislative, Schwarzburg has no municipal parliament.

Traffic

In Black Castle is the terminus of the Bern- Schwarzburg -Bahn, which was opened in 1907 and is today operated by the BLS. Lanzenhäusern also has a railway station and there is even a stop at the black water bridge at the border to the municipality Köniz. There are also several post bus lines and several bus stops.

Train

In Schwarzburg it has two primary school buildings and a secondary school. In the other villages in the municipality, it has a number of smaller school buildings. All secondary school pupils of the former District Schwarzburg go but to Schwarzburg in the school.

Attractions

Just outside the settlement area is the Protestant parish church Wahlern. The originally Romanesque building was rebuilt in the Late Gothic and supplemented with a choir. The Chäppeli, one lying in the district of Black Castle Chapel, dates back to 1463 and is characterized by a pyramidal tower.
