Great Meckelson is a municipality in the Lower Saxon Sittingbourne in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme ) with 510 inhabitants. In the West, Oste touches the municipality.

The Lower Saxony State Archives is in possession of a manuscript pedigree Caspar Schulte, Burgmann Horne castle for the period 1607-1771; Author was Caspar von Schulte to Horne Castle and Kuhmühlen (see also: Caspar Detlev von Schulte ).
