Kütahya Province

Kütahya is a province of Turkey. Its capital is the same Kütahya.

The province has 573 421 inhabitants ( census 2012) over an area of ​​12,119 km ². It borders the provinces of Afyonkarahisar, Usak, Manisa, Balıkesir, Bursa, Bilecik and Eskişehir.

History and population

In the Ottoman Empire Kytachia was a sanjak (district). It was 1915 yet 3578 Armenian inhabitants. The community was one of the most ancient Armenian communities in the region as it emerged at the end of the 15th century; She was especially known for the production of pottery.
