List of Munich U-Bahn stations

The list of the Munich underground stations provides a general overview of all existing, under construction and officially planned stations of the Munich U -Bahn system. The network consists of 2013 eight lines with 100 stations at a total length of 100.8 kilometers. The average distance between stations is thus about 1018 meters.

The system operated in the capital of Bavaria since 1971, high-speed rail network is distinguished by three routes that are served at their central portions of two lines. Of the 25 districts of Munich city are all connected to on Pasing- Obermenzing, Aubing- Lochhausen- Langwied and Allach- Untermenzing to the network, associated with the north of Munich, the town of Garching. Plans are extensions to Pasing and the municipality Planegg south of Munich.

The following table provides a summary of the main line data. The point is called the opening date of the establishment of the line, not the opening of the oldest operated station.

Station Overview

The list is organized as follows:

  • Station (symbol ) & location: name of the subway station, the internal abbreviation of the Munich Transport Company as an operator and a link to the location map; Platforms on different levels get their own shortcut
  • Line: U -Bahn, which operates the station; hold multiple lines on a platform level, these are grouped together, otherwise separated by levels
  • Identification color: The color code of the respective station. Almost all stations have a colored line tape on the walls to the recognition value to increase. These are sorted by trunk route in blue ( original route 1 ), red ( 2) or yellow ( 3) maintained. Exceptions newer stations, the initial stages of U3, where the line cords are orange, and the southern branch of the U5, the red line has bands.
  • Opening: initial opening of the station for public transport
  • District: district in which the station is located. Exceptions are the city of Garching, Munich and the Planegg in the south. These two places are therefore indicated for better differentiation in italics
  • : Transfer possibility for long-distance transport of Deutsche Bahn, this is marked with an "F ".
  • : Transfer possibility for regional trains of Deutsche Bahn or private railway companies, the identification is performed by an "R".
  • : To transfer to the Munich S-Bahn, it marked by an " S".
  • : To transfer to the Munich tram, it marked by a "T " ( for tram).
  • : Transit traffic to Munich Bus, the identification is performed by a "B".
  • Remarks: Remarks to the subway station about fitting workshops, renaming or design characteristics
  • Interest of attractions and facilities in the surrounding area
  • Image: image of a station, usually the platform
