Nagano Prefecture

The Nagano Prefecture (Japanese长野 県, Nagano-ken ) is a prefecture of Japan. It is located in the Chūbu region on the island of Honshu. Seat of the prefectural government is the city of Nagano.

Governor of Nagano is since the election in August 2010 Shuichi Abe. Until today aftermath to the prefecture policy, the term of office of Governor Yasuo Tanaka 2000-2006, whose attempts at reform the reputation of a " Advocate of the People's interests," earned him the case of trailers whose opponent but criticized him for his leadership style and described as populist. In the regular 58 -member Parliament Prefecture provide parteiungebunde MPs, the majority in the elections of April 2011, there were 23 independent election winner, the Liberal Democratic Party won 16 seats, the Communist Party of Japan six, the Democratic Party of five.

After Nagatacho Nagano sends five directly elected members in the House of Representatives - 2012 three Liberal Democrats and two Democrats - and two MPs per election to the council house, which has spread like most two- mandate constituencies equally between the two major parties in 2010 and 2013, the prefecture.
