NiÄŸde Province

Nigde is a small, rural province of Turkey in Central Anatolia on the southern edge of Cappadocia. Its capital is the same Nigde.

The province has 337 553 inhabitants ( 2011 census ) in an area of ​​7318 km ². It borders the provinces of Kayseri, Adana, Mersin, Konya, Aksaray and Nevsehir.

Geography

Nigde is surrounded with the Hasan Dagi ( Mount Hasan ) and the river Melendiz on three sides by the Taurus Mountains. In the west the plain of Emen ( town in the district Beyşehir in Konya Province ), which opens into the wide plain of Konya is located. History
