Percha

Percha ( Perca Italian ) is a municipality with 1462 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) close to Brunico, South Tyrol East (Italy). The center of the municipal seat is located in the Val Pusteria in about 970 m altitude.

Geography

The municipality of Perca, a total of 30.28 km ² in size, occupies only a small part of the running east -west direction Pusteria. The largest part of the total area extends in the mountain area northeast of it, which is set largely in Rieserferner Ahrn under protection. The Rienz forms the southern border in the Val Pusteria valley. Apart from the main village, the population spread over seven fractions

The village settlements are concentrated in Val Pusteria. The capital of the province, Percha (950-1050 m asl ), located on a plateau on the eastern edge of the so-called Brunecker widening, in the nearby town of Brunico expands. East of it are in order, the lower fractions Wielenbach ( 940-990 m), Litschbach ( 950-960 m) and - on the border with Anterselva - Nose ( 1000-1040 m).

Northeast rises above the valley floor the Rieserfernergruppe. From Under Wielenbach from the long-drawn Wielental ascends in which Oberwielenbach (1340-1410 m) is located. About the valley Percha reaches its highest point at the Black Wall ( 3105 m). To the east the Wielental limiting slopes are Wielenberg (1120-1160 m) and slightly higher plates (1400-1560 m). Above noses finally is still Aschbach (1320-1480 m).

History

The area of Percha site was inhabited in Roman times as a milestone in the church occupied.

Economy

Major industries in the town are tourism with about 15,000 per nights in the summer and winter months, and especially in the mountain fractions agriculture and forestry.

Attractions

Remarkably next to old farmhouses and mills the pyramids of plates whose ferocity and fragility are equally impressed. In addition, the center of the Dolomites for walking to the nearby mountains of the Ahr valley and the Antholz valley offers.

Wielenberg

Wielenberg located on a sunny expiring mountainside, at 1150 meters and has about 50 residents.

The settlement Wiele Mountain began in the 11th century, dates from this time, the church, which is dedicated to St. Koloman and built in the Romanesque style. The first time is 1030 mentioned as "locus Welinberc " writing Wielenberg. It belonged at that time to the county Engelberts (Today's inn percha ). 1091 Wielenberg was donated to the pen Brixen. Today Wielenberg consists of the six old farms and some new buildings above. The farms live largely on the livestock industry. The Patron and the Harrerhof have developed into small agritourism farms. The Hauserhof has been transformed into a herb farm.

Oberwielenbach

Oberwielenbach is the largest group with about 300 inhabitants and is located north of the main town in the Wielental. The center, with the Gothic- style church is located at an altitude of 1350 m. Especially popular Oberwielenbach is the starting point for hikes in the Rieserferner Ahrn, into which projects the Wielental to a great extent. The valley forms the black wall ( 3105 m slm ).
