Polling in Tirol

Polling is a municipality with 952 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Innsbruck Land in Tirol ( Austria ). The municipality is located in the judicial district Telfs.

Today is polling by the proximity to the Innsbruck area a residential and commuter community.

Geography

Polling is located in the Upper Inn Valley between Zirl and Telfs, about 20 kilometers west of Innsbruck. The municipal area extends from the valley floor south of the Inn on the polling mountain ( 860 meters) to the area of Flaurlinger yoke on 2211 meters. Neighboring municipalities are Flaurling, Hatting and Pettnau.

The municipality comprises the cadastral polling.

History

Haufendorf polling was mentioned in the year 763 as the first time, Pollinga '. The foundation of the settlement on several scree of streams that flow into the then marshy Inn Valley, probably goes back to immigrating from Seefeld saddle Bavarians.

The place is accessible from the Inn valley motorway ( A 12) with the exits Telfs -east to the west or the east -west Zirl.

Rail connection is via the Arlberg railway station with the Flaurling.
