Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ende

The Archdiocese end ( Latin: Archidioecesis Endehenus ) is located in Indonesia Roman Catholic archdiocese headquartered in the end.

History

The Archdiocese was erected at the end of September 16, 1913 by Pope Pius X. territorial concessions from the Apostolic Vicariate of Batavia as Apostolic Prefecture Lesser Sunda Islands. The Apostolic Lesser Sunda Islands prefecture on March 12, 1922 by Pope Pius XI. elevated to the Apostolic Vicariate. The Apostolic Vicariate of Lesser Sunda Islands announced on May 25, 1936 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Apostolic Vicariate of Dutch Timor. A further transfer of territory took place on July 10, 1950 establishing the Apostolic Prefecture of Denpasar. On March 8, 1951, the Apostolic Vicariate of Lesser Sunda Islands were parts of its territory from establishing the Apostolic Vicariate Larantuka and Ruteng. Simultaneously, the Apostolic Vicariate of Lesser Sunda island was renamed Vicariate Apostolic Endeh. The Apostolic Vicariate of Endeh announced on October 20, 1959 from parts of its territory establishing the Apostolic Prefecture Weetebula.

On January 3, 1961 the Vicariate Apostolic Endeh was by Pope John XXIII. with the Apostolic Constitution Quod Christ raised to an archbishopric. The Archdiocese Endeh was renamed in the end archdiocese on 14 May 1974. On 14 December 2005, the archbishopric was the end parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of Maumere.
