Saifen-Boden

Saifen - ground with 1045 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) is a municipality in the district court Fürstenfeld and in the political district of Hartberg - Fürstenfeld in Styria ( Austria ).

Geography

Geographical Location

Saifen floor is about 15 km west of the district capital of Hartberg and about 35 km northeast of the provincial capital of Graz. The municipality belongs to the Pöllauer valley in Joglland. The municipality is crossed by the Pöllauer Untersafen, which rises in the municipality as Saifen. Together with its tributaries it drains the community. The municipal area rises from east to west. Its lowest point it has at the Pöllauer Untersafen at Pöllau, its highest point at the western edge of the community Rabenwald.

Saifen floor consists of the cadastral Obersaifen and Winkl or the villages Obersaifen ( 827 inhabitants) and Winkl- ground (262 inhabitants) ( inhabitants as of 2001).

Since exceeding the 1,000 -inhabitant threshold Saifen floor has 15 councilors.

Coat of arms

Blazon (Coat of Arms description): " In a red shield a gold lined blue pile, pile as front accompanied by a golden spirit level, back of a golden ear of corn. " The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 August 1998.

Regional Policy

Saifen floor is a member of the Association of Municipalities Pöllauer valley, and with this Oststeirisches in the LEADER area heartland. December 7, 2010 was Pöllauer valley constituted as Regionext small region. At the municipal structural reform 2010-2015 Saifen floor will probably merge with all four other municipalities in the micro-region.

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

Saifen floor is off the major roads on the Gschaiderstraße L 448 of Pöllau after Birkfeld. There, in about ten kilometers, the Weiz road B 72 is obtained from Weiz to war Lach.

Saifen floor has no rail connection. The nearest train station is approximately ten kilometers in Birkfeld, but is no longer served in regular operation since 1973. On the Feistritztalbahn wrong since 1994 only a museum railway.

Graz Airport is about 75 km away. The airport Wien- Schwechat, about two hours by car from the community Saifen floor. The journey by car from Saifen floor to the Hungarian border takes about one hour.

The natural swimming pond is part of a biotope, which is home to many plants and animals. Through his special protection it provides by natural cleaning excellent water quality.
